I'm soooo Happy after my bath!

Tucked on my Big Nanny's shoulder after my bath... ahhhhh this is the life.......

I'm one week old already! 29.11.2006

Hello everyone! I'm one week old today and am settling in a bit at home. I have such a small tummy and such a big appetite that I have to eat every 2 hours. Sometimes in the afternoon, when it's hot and muggy, I sleep a little bit longer, and so does Mummy.

I'm a very clean and fussy girl, and I like a clean nappy ALL the time. I sure hope nappies grow on trees.. Daddy's going to be spending a lot of money otherwise!

Big Nanny has also been helping Mummy take care of me, and she is an especially good shoulder to cry - oops - I mean BURP on !

There are 2 very hairy things ( Buffy and Bruce ) living here in this house as well, and they seem to be pretty scared of me.. Imagine that.. little old me, able to frighten anyone.

Daddy keeps kissing me and telling me how pretty I am, and admiring my nose... I think he cannot believe how much I look like him. I truly am Daddy's girl.. I even share the same blood type ( O+ ) We are generous givers!

I had my first Doctors visit 2 days ago, and they did a blood test and had to take so much blood from my heel, again and again because my blood kept clotting so quickly. I came home with a bruised heel! Tsk Tsk Tsk. Dr Yong is very nice though, and although he told Mummy I have lost a bit of weight, he said it was perfectly normal and that I am looking well. Even though I wet his couch.. He wants me back in a week to check on me again!

Early Arrival!!

Hello I am Cah'ya Rain Thomas - and I was safely delivered into this world at 5.54pm on Wednesday the 22.11.2006 by Drs. S.Raman and Yap Moy Juan at the Pantai Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

I weighed in at 5lbs 11ozs and I look like a tibetan baby ! I have lots of straight hair, and much to my daddy's delight, long eyelashes!

I had low blood sugar, and was taken off to the NICU for observation and some feeding while my Mum recovered from the Spinal Epidural which made her feel pretty lousy.

I overheard Dr Yap tell my Mummy that we had come to hospital JUST in time, as when we arrived my Mummy had already begun going into labour, and when they opened Mummy up, the umbilical cord was around my neck, and I had gone into distress, and poo'd myself!
( ooo... yuk)

Anyway, all's well that ends well.. and I'm just catching up on my rest now... after my Uncle Steven's finished with me!

Love you all.. can't wait to meet each and every one of you!!

BABY COMING EARLY!!!

Hey there folks... today has gone by in a blurrrrrrr..... Mummy tested blood again this a.m. Her Liver Enzymes still elevated. The team of Doctors ( Dr Raman, Yap and Chia ) have discussed it and have decided that there must be an underlying problem and so as to not potentially cause Mummy any long term damage, they think it is best if I get taken out TOMORROW!

I think it is time too, as I Mummy is suddenly suffering from HUGE ankles, pain in the chest ( sign of liver trouble ) and even her boobs have gone ROCK hard.. she is pretty uncomfortable!

So, my Big Nanny arrived today ( thankfully ) and Daddy is rushing back from Taipei tonight, ( see the insert photo - on his way to Taipei in the cockpit ) and back to KL in the a.m.

We check in tomorrow at 11am, and the C-Section is at 5pm or maybe a little later.. I'm excited, but Mummy is suddenly feeling TOTALLY UNPREPARED!!

IMAGINE, YESTERDAY WE THOUGHT WE STILL HAD 2 WEEKS LEFT... the nursery just got painted yesterday and Mummy had set up the play pen and the Xmas tree the day before! Daddy's not fixed the carseat in the car yet.. we thought we had tons of time!

Well... all's well that ends well, so wish us luck, pray for us tomorrow and Mummy will upload this little princess's photos asap!

Here's a FINAL FAREWELL to Mummy's life as she knows it, and her ability to sleep in till 12noon!

But... a HUGE WELCOME to ME! - little TORNADO ( OR DISRUPTION as my Big Nanny has taken to calling me ) who's going to turn all your lives upside down...

Liver Enzyme Levels 20.11.2006

Mummy Got the results back this afternoon, no change... Doc seems worried but almost like not trying to freak her out. Have to go back tomorrow a.m again to test. Pray for better news tomorrow... Mum's feet really swelled up this evening.. hope its' not a sign of anything....

Bit of A Scare 18.11.2006

Mum's been itching for a few days and has been finding it hard to sleep because of it... Doc put her on Phenergan to stop itching but did a blood test just to be sure. Test results came back today and there are some elevated enzymes in her liver.

He's not too worried about it but has started her on some steriods to mature my lungs just in case these elevated levels continue, and we need to do an emergency caesarean.

Mum needs to have blood tested again till Monday and if the levels are down, we're all clear.. it may just be from an unidentified infection or something.

Just keeping fingers crossed!

36 Weeks 14.11.06

Only 3 weeks and 2 days to go! I weighed in at 2.3kg today... and the Doctor said that I have long legs, a head FULL of straight hair and am average weight and size! Hey.. me no average baby - okay!!!

Mummy is doing well.. all signs indicate that the cervix, the amniotic fluid, glucose levels etc.. are all great. Mum has put on about 13kg since Day One.

No nice photos today as I was all scrunched up inside and the Doctor couldn't get a good look!

35 Weeks 07.11.2006

Wow.. one more month to go and I'll be out of here! I should now weigh about 2.6kg and measure about 18 inches. No wonder it's getting so tight in here!

Mummy and Daddy have got most things prepared in time for my 'grand' arrival and Big Nanny is getting all excited because she'll be here in 2 weeks.

34 Weeks 31.10.06 - 5 Weeks To Go and Counting!!

Don't blame me for how I look - I am seriously running out of space in here okay??? It sure is getting crowded in here right now... plus I am hanging upside down like Batman and all I can feel is Mum rubbing my bum all the time.

Professor Raman says I have a big bum.. just like J.Lo... at least it matches my nose! I now weigh 2.25kg's but still have a bit more to grow in the next 5 weeks.

Finally Mum got to see some of the photos that were taken weeks ago for the Fetal Medicine and Gynaecology Centre. I think they turned out pretty good! I'm forever immortalised on the screen! Check Me out... I'm starting my career young!
