My Godsister

I want you all to meet my Godsister - Chloe Jane. She lives in America with my Mum's Best Friend, my Godma Elaine. Isn't she cute in that hat?

Mummy is measuring in at:

Bust: 33 1/2"
Waist/Tummy: 36 1/2"
Hips: 39 1/2"
Weight: 60.5kg

As for my progress: I have eyelashes now, and my eyes are sensitive to changes in light. I practise moving my eyes about and looking around although it is very dark in here.
I ought to be about 10 inches long. My brain can now control direct rythmic breathing and I control my own body temperature. My skin is smoothing out as more fat is deposited under my skin. All my senses are more pronounced now... light, sound, taste and smell!

Mum and Dad went to see Professor Raman today and all is well..
Mum's cervix is doing well, and the amniotic fluid in my sac is at a good level..

He did another scan today and look how BIIIIGGGGG my nose looks! This is what Daddy gets for making all those jokes about Malayalee noses!

Take a look at my hands though.. I have lovely long fingers ... maybe i'll be a concert pianist after all the Bach Mum has been piping into my space!

And if you are still not convinced that I am a GIRL... have a good look ( oh my.. how embarrasing! )

Mum saw Professor Raman again today. Her cervix has responded well to the medication and he is very happy with the results. Looks like I may stand a chance after all!!

I now weigh 1.05kg... I'm getting FAT! My lungs are now capable of breathing air, and my brain wave patterns are developing rapidly, almost similar to what it will be like when I am born.

I would like to introduce my Godparents to you - Godmum Goodie and Godpa Tony. They live in Sydney, Australia, and that's my Big Nanny Grandma sitting with them in the middle. They are the kindest, sweetest people in the world and Grandma's Best Friends.

Mum saw Professor Raman today for her pills and jab. he told her I weigh 800gms. Boy! I'm tiny! He said I have to be at least 1.5kg before I make my grand entrance!

Weight: 60kg ( Mummy has NEVER weighed THIS MUCH in her life! )

I've learnt how to roll and turn now, so I've been kicking and punching less, and practising my latest moves!

Mum and Dad had a regular check up at the Doctors' this evening, and when they got there, Dr.Prashant gave them a big scare and told Mum that he was worried about her Braxton-Hicks contractions and thought that Mum was going into premature labour. He rushed Mum off to the hospital to get hooked up to a fetal contraction monitor.

Mum almost passed out at the hospital 'cos she was made to lie on her back for so long. I think it cut the blood and oxygen off to my brain too.. just for a little while... so when I don't do too well in school later on... you know why!!

Mum was sent home after the nurse said that there were no contractions, but Mum knew she had felt them all the time that she was there. She couldn't reach her Doctor as his clinic was now closed, so Mum and Dad spent the whole night worrying that they were going to lose me. I felt very sad indeed. I too very much want to meet my darling Mum and Dad. I tried very hard to be a good girl that night, and sleep soundly so I don't disrupt anything....

The next day Mum and Dad went to see the lovely Professor Raman. He did a whole lot of other tests and made Mummy and Daddy feel a whole lot better. Mum has a very fast pulse and heart rate, so the Professor is going to send her to get her heart checked out.

Mum's heart test came back okay. it's just me being in here that makes her heart beat so fast... she must be very excited to meet me!

This week my skin is changing, I am gaining more weight and my muscles are developing. I look a bit like a jelly fish at the moment though, because my skin is transparent!

Daddy is sick. He has a 40 degree fever.. Mummy is so worried we get it.. and so we are all sleeping in separate rooms. I miss Daddy!

I am learning to open and close my hands this week, and grab things. So far, I only have my umbilical cord to play with ... ho hummm... I also practise opening and closing my eyes. I get hiccups too when I've had too much to eat!

22 Weeks 08.08.06

Mum has started to get practice contractions "Braxton-Hicks". They happen about 6 times a day and last about half a minute each time.. It's like getting a hug every time it happens! She also has been playing some music for me to listen to, just in case I am a little bored in here.. I love classical music and sometimes I even start dancing. Mozart is my FAVOURITE!

I have started kicking harder now... just keeping fit and trying to be a little Kickboxer just like my Dad.. he loves feeling my kicks and punches, although he sometimes thinks its' Mummy pulling his leg and moving her tummy herself... So i kick more when he touches me... just so he knows - IT'S ME!!

I love the food Mum eats and I wake up and have a bite about half an hour after she's done... and then I gobble it down and do some exercise after that too. She can feel me very well now, and is always rubbing her tummy just to let me know.

Today Mum, Dad, Big Nanny and Grandpa John and I went to see the lovely Professor Raman. This is a very exciting day for them. They have never seen a scan like this before. This is my chance to show off to them!

The Doctor has told Mum and Dad today that it is 100% confirmed I am a GIRL!! They are so happy... I know they wanted a girl very badly... I hear Mum say she felt me kick today too! Little does she know... its' because I'm happy too!

My Mum's belly button is now an 'outie'... I think she's a bit upset... he he he..
My ears are well formed now and i can hear! I am more active now, and coordinated. I am practising gymnastics and even somersaults! I'm not sure if Mum can feel them yet though...

This is what I look like from the outside of my Mummy's tummy! She has told me that i am giving her such bad back aches, that she has to lie down all day! But her appetite has improved and she has gained another few kilos!

My poor Mum.. she's trying hard to put on weight, and is stuffing in as much as she can.. but she feels like she has been in a buffet queue all day! To top it off, she is having bad back pains.. and moans about it all day long..

I have so much space in here- I am moving around as much as I can. Whee... this is fun.. spinning, and turning, and kicking and punching!

13 Weeks 06.06.06 Down Syndrome Testing

Today was a very important day. My Mum and Dad went to test to see if anything was wrong with me. At the Specialist's Clinic, they met a lovely Doctor, Prof. S.Raman.

Prof.Raman did a most AMAZING scan, and my mum and Dad saw my face properly for the first time.

The results were great - there was only a 0.2% risk factor.. so we're all HAPPY!

Mum goes swimming quite regularly and I love how it feels... It is very relaxing!

I must be growing 'cos Mum is putting some weight on now!

... she has also had many sleepless nights and is verrrrrrryyyyy sensitive and gets upset with Daddy all the time! I must be making her hormones go crazzzy!

The Doctor has told my Mum and Dad that I am growing well and the 'sac' I am in is a good size. My Mum has been suffering from 'sciatica' - so I really am a pain in the butt!

Today my Mum and Dad went to the Doctors to take a sneak peek at me again. Just to keep 'em happy... i moved my legs! They were thrilled!

Mum is terribly tired and sleeps a lot of the time. She's like a baby herself! Maybe it's cos she's recuperating from Aunty Carol and Uncle Govin's wedding in Penang. Summer was with my Mum and Dad in Penang too, and while Summer played in the pool ALL day, my Mum relaxed by the pool and ATE. The spaghetti bolognese she kept ordering was especially goooooooood!

7 Weeks 25.04.06

Mum's started measuring herself from today ... just to see how much I'm going to change her body AND her LIFE!!

My progress the next few weeks will be by leaps and bounds. My kidneys are forming and I will be able to pass urine in the next week. I now measure about 1/3" and I weigh about .00004 ounces. ( that's about as heavy as an eyelash! ) in about a week though, I will have doubled in size to .3 to .43" long and i'll be about the size of a dime!

My intestines are beginning to form and my first teeth are beginning to form beneath my gums. My arms will soon be at their proper location and are in proportion.

6 Weeks 18.04.06

Today my Mum and Dad heard my heartbeat for the FIRST time. I think they were shocked by how fast it is.. Maybe it's cos i'm so excited and can't wait to be born!! So far my Mum has not had any morning sickness, but she has been VERY VERY HUNGRY.

This week folds of tissue are forming the primitive material for my jaw, chin, cheeks, palate, mouth, tongue, neck, ears and some of my cranial nerves. My reproductive tract is also beginning to form. Tiny buds that will eventually be my arms and legs are forming too..

The aorta of my heart is forming, and so is my liver. Where my eyes will be are nothing but bumps in the side of my head at the moment.

By the end of this week I will measure between 0.11" to 0.20". ( the size of an eraser on a pencil! Boy am I tiny!! )

My mum is now 5 weeks pregnant with me. I am making her back ache and she keeps having HOT flushes!

This week - My first blood cells are forming and my heart tubes are fusing together. I only measure 0.4-0.6" from head to toe.

The proof is in the blue line!

That's Bruce in the background looking mighty jealous... he doesn't want to share his Mummy with anyone!!

Conception Day 08.03.06 !

8th March 2006 . Today is the day I was FINALLY conceived. My Mum and Dad had just about given up, thrown in the towel!
